ICONICS'18

ICONICS is a forum that brings researchers, scientists, software architects, and industry professionals to a common platform where they can discuss innovative ideas and diverse topics related to next generation of information technologies and services. ICONICS provided a stimulating environment of cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary exchange of research ideas. Apart from the participation of many researchers from Pakistan ICONICS’18 was also participated by numbers of international researchers including USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc. Forty two (42) full papers were received from around the world. The papers were accepted based on the critical review from the members of technical programme committee.

The conference comprised of five technical sessions and the inaugural and closing ceremonies. Each session was moderated by a session panel comprising on international and national experts. Hundreds of attendees, paper presenters, keynote and students have benefited in many ways from this conference. Total sixteen (16) papers were presented by authors. Six International Keynote Speakers from different countries addressed the audience and shared knowledge and rich experience of application of ICT in their institutions and companies.

In the conference Dr. Kayyali Mohamed, presented a signed copy of his book “Digital Image Processing” to Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, The Honourable Vice Chancellor NEDUET. The book has been placed in the University library.

The main sponsor of ICONICS’18 was the Higher Education Commission Pakistan; Gaditec, E-services and Technologies and Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd. also contributed as sponsors. The inaugural ceremony took place on 5^th December at the NED Auditorium was graced by the presence of worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Noman Ahmed, Dean (ISH). The Chief Guest for the conference inaugural ceremony was Mr. Nawab Muhammad Taimur Talpur (Honourable Minister of Information Science & Technology Sindh). Mr. Hussein Hassan Ali (Head IT Audit HBL and President ISACA Karachi Chapter) was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. Acknowledging the hard work and efforts of the organising committee, certificates of appreciation were awarded to members of the committee. The vote of thanks was presented by the Dr. Shariq Mahmood Khan, Conference Secretary ICONICS’18 at the end of closing ceremony.
